MR ADEL HELMY
Mr Adel Helmy is a University Lecturer, University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon, Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He has an interest in neuroinflammation in traumatic brain injury and subarachnoid haemorrhage, as a potential target for therapeutic interventions. He has a broad interest in multi-modality monitoring, in particular cerebral micro dialysis, and its clinical application.
More recently Mr Helmy has been appointed as Chair of the Neurosurgical National Audit Programme. This programme was established to provide data and to contribute to a national programme looking at surgical results. Over the years much has been learnt about audit and HES data. The environment regarding the Governance of data has changed considerably and this has influenced the access to data.
