SBRI Healthcare are pleased to announce that the next funding competition will launch on 13 July 2021. Companies and organisations are being invited to bid for funding to develop solutions to challenges in:

Stroke and Technology

The NIHR Brain MIC would be keen to offer support and assistance to any organisations who wish to apply for this funding stream.  The funding competition is open to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and organisations from the private, public and third sectors, including charities.

Please email all project outlines to: info@brainmic.org

Applicants are invited to submit innovative solutions to tackle three specific challenges:

  • Pre-hospital diagnosis
  • Rehabilitation
  • Life after stroke

Stroke care is a critical issue for health systems globally, with someone having a stroke every two seconds somewhere in the world. In the UK stroke is the fourth biggest killer and costs society £26 billion annually.

Pre-hospital diagnosis, delivering evidenced-based rehabilitation interventions, and supporting stroke survivors are key priorities which innovators can help the NHS address.

Funded by NHS England and NHS Improvement and in collaboration with the Stroke Association and the AHSN Network, SBRI Healthcare is pleased to announce the opening of Competition 18 for funding innovations in the pre-hospital diagnosis and rehabilitation of stroke.

The deadline for applications is 24 August 2021 and details on the Competition and how to register to the briefing events are available on the SBRI Healthcare website.
