Professor Christi Deaton – Patient and Public Involvement Theme Lead

Professor Deaton brings extensive clinical and research experience from the US and UK.  She took up her current post at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and Cambridge University Hospitals in November 2013 as Florence Nightingale Foundation Professor of Clinical Nursing Research and leads the Clinical Nursing Research Group in the Primary Care Unit. Her research focuses on improving management for patients with heart failure and other long term conditions; adherence to physical activity; self-management of heart failure and comorbid conditions; cardiovascular prevention; and nurse- or AHP-led services. Current work includes the Optimise-HFpEF study, a multi-site programme of work to improve the management of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
