Professor Franklin Aigbirhio – Functional Neuroimaging and Neurophysiology Theme Lead

Prof Franklin Aigbirhio is Director of PET (Radiochemistry) Sciences at the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (WBIC) with responsibility for the development and preparations of PET radiotracers for the imaging research programmes on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. He has established one of the largest portfolio of PET radiotracers at an academic centre in the UK, with a specific focus on neuroscience PET radiotracers. He was a co-applicant in a successful Dementia-Platform UK bid to the MRC for a national network of PET-MR scanners and now co-Chairs the resulting DP-UK Imaging Network, while also leading the NIHR Translational Research Collaboration in Dementia PET group. For both groups he is involved in developing national strategies for PET neuroimaging.
